Many terminals have playrooms for children, local artwork and live musicians. These types of extras go a long way to help make your stay pleasurable.
Many layovers are lengthy, and your stay can be tiresome. And don’t overlook the wide variety of retail stores exploding on the airport scene. Both national and local brands are available for every season of the year. Just right if you’re heading to a sunny clime and you forgot your bathing suit!
Another invaluable amenity is early check in. This has been a game changer for many a frequent traveler. Plus, modified screening techniques that allow passengers 75 and up the freedom to leave their shoes on and a light sweater or jacket and still pass through the screening machines.
Some European terminals have even implemented such useful amenities like libraries with book-swapping features and free wireless charging for electronic gadgets. Maybe it won’t be too long before you can take a cooking, language or dance class in a terminal. Or, how about doing away with the need to stop at the store on the way home to buy a quart of fresh milk? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to buy it from an airport vending machine?
